For Christmas I received $50 cash, so my plan was to visit some second-hand stores and see how far I could go with it. I shall call it my “50 Dollar Quest” mini-series and it will span into multiple posts until my money has been spent.
Store #1: Treasures of the Heart, Conway, SC – $5 spent
Store #2: Recycled Rooster, Conway, SC – $18 spent
Store #3: Moozie’s Closet, Myrtle Beach, SC
The third store was one that I had visited many times before, Moozie’s Closet, in Myrtle Beach. Here is my previous blog post on Moozie’s Closet. With my remaining $27, I entered Moozie’s with a mission to spend the rest. Even though I had been there just a couple weeks before, they apparently added more items to the racks. Bonus. The entire store was also having a 50% off sale on any second-hand item. Bonus, again.
I started at the purses, but didn’t see anything particularly for my taste. I moved to the dresses, hoping to spot that zebra print dress. If you read my December 29, 2011 Moozie’s Closet post, I mention this dress, but unfortunately, I could not find the zebra print dress on the rack! I bet Mr. Style Guy didn’t approve that sale. Next, I checked out the tops and grabbed a floral blouse, that didn’t look too terrible. Then, I moved on to the pants, which is a new area for me in second-hand stores. Nine times out of 10 I do not have any luck with pants. On to the dressing room.
Let me describe the dressing room at Moozie’s Closet, one is a restroom, but the other is a fancy personal room, fit for a princess. The lighting is displayed by a chandelier, the room is a medium pink, rugs are laid on the floor and the bench is decorated with pillows. There is also a unique piece of repurposed art on the wall. No matter what you try on, you feel like you are meant to be there because it is comfortable. An inviting, personal dressing room really compliments your experience.
I ended up with a pair of black pants, a floral blouse and a black sweater from LOFT for a total of $22. Now I have $5 left, so I think I will visit one more store!
If you go: Moozie’s Closet – 2701 North Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC – 843-626-3000 – Hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10-5:30pm and Saturday, 10-5:00pm

So jealous I wasn’t on this trip! Love following your hunt to spend $50. Maybe I’ll have to start my own challenge….
It was a spontaneous quest, but you would love this store! It’s one of my favorite!
